Your Past, your Presence and your Present

Try to fix it and you will break it. Try to change your true essence and you will lose it.

Why do we want to be something different? I have been talking lately to some guys who think everything is lost and we have to re-build ourselves from zero in order to make some progress.

Though I don’t necessarily disagree, I  think that you don’t have to forget who you are. You can’t forget all the experiences like some motivational speakers tell you to do it. It could help if you are trying to get rid of bad memories, but it would also delete the good memories and the good times that you have surely had.

The idea here is not to eliminate your past, but to put it behind you. Learn from your bad experiences and what led you to put yourself in that situation. What would you change? Then take your good experiences and savour every minute of them. And then… move on.

Recognize in yourself the potential, power and possibilities that you have created and how they will be the motor or leverage to make you a better person. Not a different person, a better one. It is this Divine being within you. It is the Divinity inside you who has to be unleashed. But that doesn’t happen by denying how you have come to this place.

So, yes: The ride has been harsh and agitated so far. Now it’s your turn to choose the road, the tires and the destination. Now you are driving. Now you enjoy the ride.
