Try to fix it and you will break it. Try to change your true essence and you will lose it.

Why do we want to be something different? I have been talking lately to some guys who think everything is lost and we have to re-build ourselves from zero in order to make some progress.

Though I don’t necessarily disagree, I think that you don’t have to forget who you are. You can’t forget all the experiences like some motivational speakers tell you to do it. It could help if you are trying to get rid of bad memories, but it would also delete the good memories and the good times that you have surely had.

The idea here is not to eliminate your past, but to put it behind you. Learn from your bad experiences and what led you to put yourself in that situation. What would you change? Then take your good experiences and savour every minute of them. And then… move on.

Recognize in yourself the potential, power and possibilities that you have created and how they will be the motor or leverage to make you a better person. Not a different person, a better one. It is this Divine being within you. It is the Divinity inside you who has to be unleashed. But that doesn’t happen by denying how you have come to this place.

So, yes: The ride has been harsh and agitated so far. Now it’s your turn to choose the road, the tires and the destination. Now you are driving. Now you enjoy the ride.

Oh, Scorpios are beautiful.

Yes, they have this terrible reputation of being the most difficult zodiac people to work, live and die with. But trust me, they have a very nice side.

Joanne is Scorpio. And that is perfect for a Cancer like me. She will push and push. She never stops and that helps me to get things always running. There is always another project, another idea, another activity. Once in a while, (less and less frequently now) I like to withdraw a little into my shell, to do the thinking but she will not complain. That gives her more free time to do even more things.

So we are never short of projects, and I like to think that I contribute to the relationship with some of the needed insight and analysis. We Cancers evaluate every angle. Then Scorpios jump in and do their thing.

A note of advice: Scorpios have everything under control. Until they don’t. If you see them running, Run!

Does the World come to a tragic end in December 2012 according to the Mayan Calendar?

There are a lot of people who have been asking lately how does this end of the world is going to be. What major disasters are in store for us? How should we prepare? What is the picture of disaster?

Well, the description and preparation is exactly the kind of topics we cover during my workshops and lectures. But my conclussion is always the same, be prepared but don’t stop living. You can not change your life just because something will happen tomorrow. THAT is the difference with this Mayan Calendar. It is not a prediction of how things will end. It is a description of how we have to change NOW.

Life is full of surprises, challenges and games. Keep yourself attuned to your own strength and persverance. You want to build an underground shelter to live in december 2012? Well, that is your decision, but don’t suffer while setting it up and being paranoid of the consequences. You better imagine the consequences of the vibrations you are creating around you Every Day. And put yourself in the frequency of a New Beginning, not a tragic ending.

The Ascended Masters, my own Toltec Masters, and almost every other conscious-minded cultures they all teach the same lesson. It is not worthy to live a life in retreat and reach for enlightment, when you don’t have time to apply those principles to your daily life. You will only come back and keep repeating your old past mistakes.

So enjoy your day, and don’t create a Universe of tragedy and despair around you. If you do, your world is not going to end, it was already finished a long time ago.

The ancient mayans, naturally good observers, didn’t just dedicate their atention to the stars, but they realised the station changes and the correspondence of important agricultural moments dates with the sun’s position and moments and with other astrological events. Understanding it was not enough to observe such phenomena, but that they should register and calculate them in order to establish a cronological rythm, they invented signs to represent sky planets, time periods and their respective records. Hence they created a writing system, mathematics and finally the Tzolkin Calendar, more accurate than the one we presently use.

Normally, Mayan buildings were oriented towards the cardinal points and towards planets and stars, Sun, Moon, Mars and Venus principally. Among their archaelogical legacy we can find Dzibilchaltun, Uxmal, Chichén Itzá y Tulúm (this last one only 2 hrs away from Cancún), each of them a great example of their design and building creativity. All of them being in perfect coordination with the specific natural phenomenon they wanted to highlight, as is the case with the Equinoxes.

The equinox is the day when the sun crosses the ecuator line and makes the day and night to last exactly the same time. This happens twice a year: march 21, and september 23. The equinox days were important for mayans and other ancient earth-related cultures because they indicate the beggining of the sowing and harvesting cycles.

Mayans made records of this events in the buildings that have a 17 degree north orientation. The most representative one of this buildings, the one where they used all their astronomy, mathematics, cronology, geometry and religious knowledge is Kukulkan’s Pyramid, or “The Castle” at Chichen-Itza, where every year thousand gather to witness the greatness of the mayan legacy. It is here where skies, earth, science and magic get together. It is here where, on the northern stair of the building, a snake-like projection of seven light triangles can be seen as a result of the shadow cast over the building’s nine platforms.

The vision is one of a serpent, the God Kukulkán, the most important deity to the mayans, who slowly descends from the top to the base of the pyramid. This image lasts approximately 30 minutes, and it is the moment everybody awaits to receive cosmic energy.

It is so amazing and special, that event the NASA records it every year, so the entire world can be witness of this wonderful archaeological-astronomical event.

An old inscription in the ancient ruins of Tajin in Mexico, has one of the life rules of the Mesoamerican masters: “We did not come to this world to hide. We are here to find ourselves”.

A few years ago, one of my psychologist friends told me about the difference between a simple fear and a phobia. Fear is an emotional reaction to present or future challenges. While the dictionary defines a Phobia as a persistent and irrational fear. My point of view back then and even now is that every fear, even those which we are not consciously aware of, are irrational. And the more persistent, the more irrational they become.

When a person acknowledges his true potential, the wonder of being alive and the creative power in him or herself, no fear can be rational. The truth is that we are all afraid sometimes, only some people have decided to surrender to their fears.

Through time we have discovered that fear can immobilize us. One of the physiological basic reactions of the human body is to remain still, while facing a dangerous situation. It was a perfectly normal and natural reaction for a person living in 16,000 BC who detected the presence of a mountain lion. Of course we wouldn’t want to make a single movement until the lion is gone. If we survived, then we learnt the lesson. Either we wouldn’t take that path again, or we would return with a hunting party. We need to keep on going. It would be silly to just stay in our comfy and cosy cave, thinking daily of all the ways that lion could have hurt us. Which is what we do these days we sit and think..

The thing here is that nowadays, this fear is not even real, it is a perceived one. We believe that the rest of the world will hurt us again, and so we stop. We think we will not get that job we can apply for, because we are afraid of being rejected. So we don’t apply. We are afraid of being abandoned and we channel that fear in the form of jealousy. Another way of stopping. So our partner gives up and ends up effectively abandoning us.

It is my opinion that every fear is irrational. If humankind is able to have such bright moments to create great works of art, scientifical and technological breakthroughs, why should we be afraid of the world around us? Once we have realised that we are capable of achieving anything we can imagine, our surrounding threats become insignificant compared to the great power within us.

This simple fact of being capable of creating, should be enough to stop us from being afraid. It is an accepted fact, even by the most sceptic scientists, that the human mind is constantly creating its own reality. This is the first and greatest tool we have to erase our fears. We create what we live. We can choose to create fearful situations or we can create a whole satisfying life for ourselves. It is only a question of believing that we can do it. That is how powerful our True Self is.

The second tool which we have at our disposal is our Consciousness. Our brains have adapted in such ways that we are able to tell that the person in front of us in a mirror is not another human being, but ourselves. This consciousness of our own presence lets us know that we are no simple spectators or actors in the Universal stage. We are the scriptwriters, we decide what to do with our bodies, our thoughts and our emotions.

Not everyone has the third important tool to stop being afraid. This tool consists on having Transcendent Principles. The guiding principles of our lives are more important and more far-reaching than the fear with which we are stuck. These principles can be, according to your priorities, being happy, self improvement, and being of service to others. They are not physical achievements and they are not dependant on other people. To have a healthy love relationship is not a transcendent principle, but having self-respect is. It all has to depend on ourselves and on our inner power. To have a transcendent principle is to set up a goal for ourselves which will be placed beyond any fear of day to day things..

What is so bad that you can’t solve? What is wrong with life that you can’t establish a change for the better? What pains or hurts can be so intense that you can’t turn them into lessons for yourself and for your loved ones? Yes, we all suffer and hurt at some point, but suffering and hurt are there to be useful to us, to learn and then to overcome them and never think back on them again.

An old inscription in the ancient ruins of Tajin in Mexico, has one of the life rules of the Mesoamerican masters: “We did not come to this world to hide. We are here to find ourselves”.

All that you are, everything you have and everything that happens to you, is an opportunity for personal growth. It only depends on the angle from which you will face it. And remember: It is not enough to face it; you have to enjoy it.

It can be admired in its glory at the National Anthropology Museum in Mexico City. Impressive as it is, there is a huge difference between Mayans and Aztecs. Not even a resemblance between 2 civilizations separated from one another by 1,000′s of kms in distance and hundreds of years in time.

Secondly, this is not a calendar. It is the abstract representation of the God-Sun, and the constellations that it covers throughout the year. Sort of an astrology wheel. Its name? The Aztec Solar Stone.

So… please don’t go buying little replicas of this beautiful stone monument thinking it is a mayan thing.

The questions for today would be, Am I a Pagan? Am I a Wiccan? Well, the answer to that is yes and no. Yes, because I got married in a pagan ceremony. Our Eternal Handfasting was scheduled to be celebrated during Litha on December last year. We practice several wiccan rituals and different earth, magick related dates are always on our calendars. We know the equivalence of the pagan holidays with the western-christian ones, and we also relate strongly to the power of this beliefs in every shape that they come in.

Yes we practice and respect Wicca. Some of our dearest friends are truly dedicated Wiccans and/or Pagans. The subtle difference might be that we also live accordingly to some of the most important Buddhist teachings, and the Toltec agreements, and so on. So great is the force of all this traditions that we honour and respect the core principles than that are simultaneously present in all of them. Ancient or modern, traditional or revolutionary, as long as they embrace life and light.

We expect and demand the same respect for ourselves.

I have tried to teach my College students and kids around me that they shouldn’t get to study just one day before the examination date. I must confess that it is very good advise that I never applied on my self during my own student years. At the end it turned out that I had to study like an obsessed man for seven hours prior to writing the exam, instead of having studied a daily hour during the previous week. I wouldn’t like them to be submitted to that kind of stress and unnecessary pressure.

Of course, there are some activities that allow for these kind of things. What you didn’t study for a week, you can recover the day prior to the exam, though not with the same effect and exteriorization. But I just read a study that talks about the sleep and the hours we dedicate to sleeping. Apparently it was thought that you could recover some of the sleep you didn’t have during the week if you slept a little more on the weekend. Today researchers have found this to be untrue. What is gone, is gone.

Well, with personal growth the same principles apply. It is very difficult to recover it. if we neglect our spiritual growth activities for one day, we should be conscious that we will not be recovering that day since it is lost forever.

What happens if we forget our true meaning in life for a day and stop working on that path?

“It is fine, I didn’t meditate today, but tomorrow I will take two hours for doing it”. Believe me, it doesn’t work that way. You have lost a day of your life.

Today each of us has access to personal and spiritual growth. There are hundreds, if not thousands of paths, techniques and tools to choose from, to improve ourselves. To become more than mere human beings, to transcend and integrate ourselves and to achieve ascension. The most wonderful thing of all is that we don’t need to walk each and every path. All the possibilities and options are there, within our reach, to work on the ones that best fit our way of being, our interests and our lifestyle.

Positive energy that we produce everyday is accumulated and never gets lost. And yet, the teachings of the old Toltec temachtianis tell us that the human being has to continuously exercise his every dimension: Body, Mind and Spirit. If you miss a day, you will not loose your soul, but you will have lost precious time that can not be recovered. And what is most important, you will have lost an opportunity.

This is why we have to be constant. If you have decided on meditation, do it well and frequently. Don’t let a day go by without doing it. if you find that Fung Shui wasn’t for you, but you have decided to explore the ways of crystal therapy, don’t regret it. Enjoy the transition and do it constantly. If you choose to do both, design your schedule in such a way that all your other activities can fit into your paths. If Reiki and Healing is your thing, do it thoroughly and daily. Perhaps you feel comfortable being eco-friendly and spreading daily messages about planet-Gaia integration and a healthy natural environment. Then do it today and tomorrow. And the next day after that.

The tricky part here is that we can’t study the prior to the “exam”, because we don’t know when is it going to be. We can feel it coming closer and closer these days, but no matter what, we should not loose that golden opportunity to speak to someone new, someone with a the right word or the right contact for us. They might be just around the corner. The opportunity of discovering that information nugget might come tomorrow. Or that special message coming our way, is already in our meditation mailbox. It could happen anytime. This is not about studying 7 uninterrupted hours before the exam. Truth is that we are always in the middle of exam periods, and each day is a chance to be better. It is about always being ready, while being busy. Remember: “Spirit is Action”.

The most important road, the road to transcendence has multiple lanes. It doesn’t matter which one you take, the important thing is to keep on stepping on the fuel pedal. I will only ask one thing from you: Enjoy it.

You know, it is one of those after-lunch conversations: How do I think my Soul?

Well, not exactly after a normal lunch, but you get the idea. Last week a friend of mine asked me if the mind and soul are the same. And though at first sight it looks very different from the sould, I think it is a valid question. The mind is an invisible force that possibly uses braincell power to generate new ideas, new analysis and to produce conclussions about ourselves and our surrounding world. Our feelings come from our perceptions and those perceptions are created inside the mind.

Meanwhile the Soul is something else, that can think, can breathe and have emotions. Because it is not one part of yourself, like the Mind, or the Body, or your Emotions. Your Soul is Yourself. It is that which bounds all the other things together. Your soul -and specially the conscious soul, is your Divinity. The Divinity within you.

That is why your mind thinks better when it is in touch with your Soul. Why your body heals himself or others when it’s connected to your Divinity. In other words, your Soul can not be thought. It thinks and speaks and acts for you. But only when you are aware of it.

from… By Alvey Woffindale

The Mayans during their classical period between the 250 AD and 900 AD rose to great heights of civilization. They were skilled farmers and hunters along with great mathematicians, storytellers, astronomers, artists, linguists and architects.
Most of these skills are still far better progressed compared to our own especially their calendar systems, hieroglyphic writing and their astronomical knowledge.

The Mayans had developed three calendar systems. The two more commonly used were cyclic calendars like our own Georgian calendar the third however was a continuous (linear) calendar that started from a mythical date of creation of the world in 1 Baktun and ends on the 13 Baktun.

This third calendar called the Mayan Long Count Calendar is the point of much debate among the classic and contemporary Mayan experts. Some suggest this is just a point of regeneration and others claim it is the sign of an apocalypse.

There are a number of experts both classic and contemporary that fall on each side of the argument. The problem is the language barrier, as the hieroglyphic writing or at least our knowledge of it lends a mythological quality to the writing itself opening it up to many interpretations and contradictions.

The Mayan Long Count Calendar however with its interlocking Solar and Lunar cycles is not disputed as it afforded the Mayans and unusual sight into the astronomical future of our solar system .

The ideas that they were able to not only predict the Winter Solstice of 2012 with uncanny ability but the equinox that will see the alignment of Earth with the black hole is astonishing to say the least.

We have only in the recent years discovered there is a black hole. If we read through the Mayan accounts of what will happen during this end of the world age, we find that they reference a demon of the underworld unleashed upon Earth by a serpent (shaped like our galaxy) that causes destruction through water and floods.

The Mayans refer to this date of December 2012 as the days of the withered fruit and the tempest.

With all the Mayan prophecies that have come true, their astronomical knowledge that eludes us to date along with the deteriorating state of our societies and the rising water levels it is not wrong to think that there is some truth to the Mayan prophecy of doom for 21 December 2012.

Ever since the 2006 release of Al Gore’s documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” we have all not only believed in global warming but like the good citizens of the world that we are all trying out best to save the planet.

We do every little thing we are told to save energy so that the rapid heating up of our planet due to green house gasses does not cause any further devastation that it already has.
